Comet Tail — a custom Vinewood sign for FiveM in aggressive style
A finished custom Vinewood sign on a FiveM server. The Comet Tail style starts from the palette above and the comet animation described below.

One hot point of light travels the row with a dimming tail behind it, like a comet crossing the hillside. The Orbitron typeface gives it a motorsport feel. Drift and racing servers run this with a short loop so the streak never stops moving.

How the comet animation behaves

One hot point of light crosses the sign with a dimming tail behind it. The head is much brighter than anything else on the board, and the tail length is set by the motion width.

It is the most directional option: the eye follows the head, which makes the sign feel fast.

The typeface

Comet Tail is set in Orbitron, a squared technical face with a motorsport feel. You are not locked to it — the banner creator carries 82 typefaces across 12 styles, and swapping one in keeps the palette and the motion exactly as they are. You can also upload a font of your own if your server already has one.

Where this style works

One hot point of light crossing the word with a dimming tail behind it, in a squared motorsport face. Drift servers, racing servers and street-circuit maps run this, usually on a short loop so the streak never stops moving.

Day and night

The head of the comet is far brighter than anything else on the board, which gives the sign a sense of speed that colour alone would not. By day the cream-to-orange ramp reads as warm metal, and the movement is still visible as a travelling highlight.

Three things to change first

  1. Lengthen the tail before you speed it upA longer tail reads as fast. A faster head just reads as a flicker.
  2. Keep the floor brightness upThe letters the comet has passed should dim, not vanish.
  3. Try it on one wordA comet crossing two lines has to pick a line, and the other one looks forgotten.

What you actually get

A drop-in FiveM map resource: the letters or the cut-out as .ydr models, the colour ramp as a texture, a clip dictionary that animates it, the type definitions, the placement and a manifest. There is no script in the folder, so it costs no frame time, it keeps running when your resources restart, and every player sees the same frame of the loop. Building it takes about a minute after payment and the download never expires. Changing the design later and rebuilding is $10.

Questions about this style

Can I put my own words on the Comet Tail style?

Yes — DRIFT is only what the sample reads. Opening this style in the banner creator loads its palette, typeface and motion, and the text is the first thing you change. Nothing about the style is tied to the words.

What does the comet animation cost in game?

Nothing measurable. The movement is baked into the map as a colour strip and a clip dictionary, the same mechanism the base game uses for its own moving signage, so there is no script and no per-frame work on any client.

Can I change the colours afterwards?

The palette is baked into the textures when the resource is built, so changing it means a rebuild. Doing that from your saved design costs $10; everything else about the design stays as you left it.
