Crimson on near-black. The most aggressive palette here, and the one that needs the most thought.
The palette
What CRIMSON actually does
CRIMSON keeps the land almost black at #0a0809 and pushes #ff3d3d through the accent and the coast. The water goes very dark with a red cast (#070304 to #180508), so the map reads as hot without the streets themselves turning red and becoming unreadable.
How it sits under your blips
Red is the single most overloaded blip colour in GTA V — wanted level, enemies, danger zones, hostile units. A red accent map competes directly with all of it. That is fine, and deliberate, on a server where danger is the whole point. On a roleplay server where red means police attention, it is the wrong choice.
Servers it suits
Redzone, 100k-or-die, gang and combat servers where a hot map matches the tone and nobody is relying on subtle red markers.
When to pick something else
Black for any server where red blips carry real information. Orange if you want the heat without the direct collision.
Island add-on
Red Cayo Perico, $1.00 per map
GTA 5 draws Cayo Perico from its own Scaleform file, so replacing the Los Santos minimap leaves the island on the stock Rockstar art. The red island is rendered from the same CRIMSON palette by the same engine and ships as a second drop-in resource.
