The palette
What EMERALD actually does
EMERALD holds the land at #070b09 and lets #2fe08a carry the identity through the accent and the coastline glow. Because the ground stays almost black, the green never washes across the map — it appears where the water meets land and along the accent details, and the city underneath stays readable.
How it sits under your blips
Green is used by the game and by most frameworks for positive markers — shops, jobs, health, friendly. An emerald accent can pull attention away from those. The dark ground keeps the collision manageable, but if green blips are load-bearing on your server, test it first.
Servers it suits
Servers with a green identity, and gang or turf servers that want the map to feel slightly off the default without going bright.
When to pick something else
Black if green icons are important to your gameplay loop. Mixed dark if you want green in the terrain itself rather than in the accent.
Island add-on
Green Cayo Perico, $1.00 per map
GTA 5 draws Cayo Perico from its own Scaleform file, so replacing the Los Santos minimap leaves the island on the stock Rockstar art. The green island is rendered from the same EMERALD palette by the same engine and ships as a second drop-in resource.
