Black with the contrast eased off. The same neutral discipline, a little more separation between land, water and built-up areas.
The palette
What GRAPHITE actually does
GRAPHITE lifts the land to #141719 and the water to #0d1013, so the city blocks, the coast and the open ground stay distinguishable from each other instead of merging into one dark mass. The roads run from #6f7883 up to #bcc5d0, which is marginally softer than the black set — the map reads as a place rather than as a diagram.
How it sits under your blips
Neutral like black, with no hue of its own to clash with anything the game draws. The slightly lighter ground costs a small amount of blip contrast compared to OBSIDIAN, and buys back a clearer sense of where the city actually is when you are zoomed out.
Servers it suits
Servers that found pure black too flat, and anyone who wants players to read the shape of the map at a glance as well as the icons on top of it.
When to pick something else
Go to Black if blip contrast matters more than reading the terrain. Go to Mixed dark if you want the land to carry actual relief.
Island add-on
Gray Cayo Perico, $1.00 per map
GTA 5 draws Cayo Perico from its own Scaleform file, so replacing the Los Santos minimap leaves the island on the stock Rockstar art. The gray island is rendered from the same GRAPHITE palette by the same engine and ships as a second drop-in resource.
