A cold map. Deep navy water, near-black land, and a cobalt accent that reads as blue without turning the ground blue.
The palette
What COBALT actually does
COBALT keeps the land properly dark at #080a0f and puts the colour where it belongs — the water, which runs from #01050e out to #04122b, so the ocean and the rivers carry the identity and the city stays neutral underneath. The road tiers are pulled slightly cool to match.
How it sits under your blips
The one thing to check: blue is a common colour for friendly, crew and law-enforcement blips, and a cobalt accent sits in the same part of the spectrum. On this palette the accent lives mainly in the water, so the collision is mild, but if your server marks units in blue, look at a busy dispatch moment before deciding.
Servers it suits
Coastal and marine-heavy servers, police-forward identities, and anything with a cool brand palette.
When to pick something else
Black if your blip layer is mostly blue. Mixed dark if you want the water blue but the land to carry relief as well.
Island add-on
Blue Cayo Perico, $1.00 per map
GTA 5 draws Cayo Perico from its own Scaleform file, so replacing the Los Santos minimap leaves the island on the stock Rockstar art. The blue island is rendered from the same COBALT palette by the same engine and ships as a second drop-in resource.
