OBSIDIAN

The black FiveM-compatible minimap,
on every base map style.

The deepest ground in the set. Near-black land, almost black water, and a bright off-white road network that carries the whole map.

The palette

What OBSIDIAN actually does

OBSIDIAN drops the land to #080a0e and the water to #04060a, which are close enough that the coastline reads as an edge rather than a colour change. Everything you see on this map is the road network: a cool grey for residential streets rising to near-white for the freeways. There is no colour anywhere on the ground, so every coloured pixel on the finished radar belongs to something the game drew.

How it sits under your blips

This is the palette with no blip conflicts at all. Red, blue, green, yellow and white icons each sit on a neutral dark ground with nothing competing for the same hue, and the GPS route stays legible across the whole city. If your server runs a lot of icons — police units, EMS, dispatch markers, job blips — black is the safest ground you can put under them.

Servers it suits

Heavy roleplay servers with dispatch, emergency services and a busy blip layer. Also the default choice when you are not sure: nothing about it will ever fight your HUD.

When to pick something else

If you want the same neutrality but a slightly softer, less absolute ground, take Gray. If your server has a strong brand colour you want on the map, take that colour instead and check it against your most important blip.

Island add-on

Black Cayo Perico, $1.00 per map

GTA 5 draws Cayo Perico from its own Scaleform file, so replacing the Los Santos minimap leaves the island on the stock Rockstar art. The black island is rendered from the same OBSIDIAN palette by the same engine and ships as a second drop-in resource.

FAQ

Black theme — questions

Which base map style should I take the Black theme on?
If your players call postal codes on the radio, take the postal style. If you run your own postal script or want the calmest radar, take the no-postals style. If you want a dense, modern street map with a real road hierarchy, take the Google style.
Is the Black palette readable at radar size?
Yes. Every theme is built from the same 226 megapixel master render with a three-tier road hierarchy, so freeways stay continuous and labels stay legible even at minimap scale. This is a dark theme, which keeps the HUD calm at night.
Can I put my server logo on this theme?
Yes — open it in the studio, place your logo and text, and the branded build is $8.00 plus $1.00 per element.
