About the Onyx design
Onyx is a disc of polished black glass. The surface has a soft glass sheen that catches the light across its curve, and a ring of fine ticks runs around the rim like the markings on a watch bezel. A crisp edge light traces the outer edge and the slot divisions in the accent color, thin enough to feel precise. When a weapon is selected, a selection light glows in its slot, soft rather than filled, so the wheel stays calm. The weapon name and attachment sit in the center above the 3D center mark. There are no textures and no ornaments; it relies entirely on the glass and the light.
Matching it to the rest of your HUD
Onyx is one of the most versatile wheels for HUD matching. Its black glass works next to almost any dark minimap, and the thin edge light takes on your map's accent without adding weight. The Onyx palette is white light on black, ideal for monochrome HUDs. Glacier gives icy blue for cold maps, Rose brings a soft pink, Jade suits green maps, and Champagne adds a warm gold for luxury servers. Set the edge light to your minimap's road color and the pair looks deliberate.

- The wheel itself: the game HUD scaleform, rebuilt with your artwork and colours baked in.
- pityus_weaponwheel/stream/hud.ytd
- The texture dictionary the scaleform pulls its bitmaps from, at the same format and mip count as the stock file.
- pityus_weaponwheel/fxmanifest.lua

- pityus_weaponwheel/README.txt
- The three install lines and your licence reference.
- pityus_weaponwheel/client.lua
- Only present if you pick the 3D tilt selection motion: a single thread that pushes the tilt settings into HUD component 19.
- pityus_weaponwheel/wheel.json
- The tilt numbers that thread reads, so you can nudge them later without a rebuild.
Installing it
- Copy the pityus_weaponwheel folder into your server's resources directory. Anywhere in resources works. It is a streaming resource, so load order against your framework does not matter.
- Add ensure pityus_weaponwheel to server.cfg. Put it with your other streaming resources. Nothing else in the config has to change.
- Restart the server. The new wheel is served from that moment on.
- Each player restarts the game client once. The game caches HUD scaleforms for the length of a session, so a reconnect is not enough: the client has to be closed and opened again.
Step by step, with screenshots, in the setup guides.
QUESTIONS
Onyx weapon wheel FAQ
What is the difference between Onyx and Minimal?
Onyx is dark polished glass with fine ticks and a crisp edge light, giving a luxury feel. Minimal is soft rounded glass with a single accent line and slot markers, lighter and friendlier. Onyx is sleek and premium, Minimal is simple and approachable.
Which minimap pairs with Onyx?
Almost any dark minimap. Onyx is black glass with a thin edge light, so it takes on the color of whatever accent you set. Match the edge light to your map roads for the closest pairing.
Is Onyx readable in daylight?
Yes. The black glass gives a solid dark base, so the white icons and ammo counts keep strong contrast even over bright scenes. You can raise the glass sheen for more shape, or lower it for a flatter look.
