Vertical story and reel, 1080x1920
Vertical is the only aspect short-form platforms do not punish, and the interface eats the top and bottom of it.

1080x1920 is the aspect every short-form platform is built around. Post anything wider and TikTok either letterboxes it with grey bars or crops it to the centre, both of which look like a repost rather than something made for the platform.
The composition problem is interface. TikTok puts a caption, a username and a row of buttons over the bottom quarter and a set of controls over the top. Instagram Stories does something similar. The usable band is roughly the middle 60% of the height, so the lockup in the vertical render sits centred with the scene filling the rest, and nothing important goes within about 250 pixels of the top or bottom edge.
It is a four-second 30fps render of the live scene, silent, with a seamless loop. Four seconds is deliberate: short-form platforms loop a clip rather than stopping it, so a short clean loop plays three or four times while somebody reads the caption, which is more branding exposure than a longer clip that plays once.
This is the single most useful promotional file in a pack for a server trying to grow, because it is the only one that goes straight onto a platform where people who have never heard of your server might see it. Everything else in a pack is seen by people who already found you.

What goes wrong
The four failures that cost people the most time on this slot.
- Posting a 16:9 clip and letting TikTok letterbox it
- Putting the invite near the bottom, where the caption and buttons cover it
- Making a thirty-second clip when a four-second loop plays four times
- Forgetting that the loop join is visible if the first and last frames differ
Questions about this size
3 answers.
What size is a TikTok video?
1080x1920 vertical at 30fps. The app overlays the top and bottom with interface, so keep the important part in the middle 60% of the height.
Does the same file work for Reels and Shorts?
Yes. Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, TikTok and Snapchat all use 1080x1920 at 9:16, so one export covers all four.
Why only four seconds?
Short-form platforms loop rather than stop. A clean four-second loop plays several times while somebody reads the caption, which gives more exposure than a single longer play.

Square social post, 1080x1080
The square feed post is the one you send when applications open, and it is the format most servers never bother to make.
FiveM loading screen resource
A video loop costs every joining player a download and still stutters. A live scene costs nothing and runs at their refresh rate.
Twitch offline screen, 1920x1080
Most of the hours in a week your channel is offline. The offline screen is doing the selling for all of them.
