# Interiors and IPLs in FiveM

**Short answer.** An IPL is a named map chunk that can be switched on with `RequestIpl(name)` and off with `RemoveIpl(name)`. Inside an interior, entity sets toggle furniture and styles: get the interior with `GetInteriorAtCoords`, then `ActivateInteriorEntitySet(interior, set)` and `RefreshInterior(interior)`. The bob74_ipl resource does this for the whole GTA Online catalogue with a config.

GTA V ships dozens of interiors that are switched off by default in FiveM — apartments, offices, nightclubs, bunkers, the Lifeinvader lobby. They are loaded as IPLs (map chunks) and dressed with entity sets (optional furniture and decoration). Knowing the difference is how you open a vanilla building for roleplay without a single custom file.

IPL names come from the game files. Community lists and resources such as bob74_ipl document them; the two above are among the most commonly cited. Loading an IPL is client-side and needs to happen for every player, so put it in a client script that runs on start.

## Interior entity sets

Entity sets are how the same apartment can appear in several styles, or a bunker with or without equipment. `SetInteriorEntitySetColor` changes the tint of some sets. Without `RefreshInterior` the change is not visible until the interior reloads.

## bob74_ipl

bob74_ipl is the de-facto standard resource for GTA Online interiors: executive offices, apartments, nightclubs, bunkers, casino and more. It loads the IPLs and lets you choose styles and entity sets in its configuration, so you do not maintain your own list.

- Start it early in server.cfg, before MLOs that build on vanilla interiors.
- Disable interiors in its config that an MLO replaces, to avoid overlap.

## Conflicts with MLOs
